I've been fond of that occasional feature in Dear Abby about "pennies from heaven". Well, a friend of mine just recently died, and in her own imitable style, instead of sending me a penny from heaven, she sent me a ten cent coin from the Netherlands Antilles, from heaven. Note that the picture is not of the one she sent but rather a shot I found online somewhere. Who knew how hard it was to find pictures of specific foreign coins online? Anyway, the odds of a ten cent coin from the Netherlands Antilles ending up in my change at Denny's in Warwick, Rhode Island at 2:00am are pretty slim, I'd say. Thanks, Shirley, for your own personal touch. The date is 1993, which is definitely significant (some know why.)
