Here's a really good essay about the coming out of NJ Gov. Jim McGreevey. I do agree with the writer--I find myself cheering for him, despite his corruption, for this huge act of truth.
I actually have a whole lot of thoughts about this based on my personal knowledge of some local gay politicians (out and not) and one purportedly adulterous straight one. But I don't think it's safe to post them here, even without naming names. So I may post elsewhere under my alter ego, or something....

Always, always follow that serendipity around. For tonight (well, this morning, as the sun has risen), it led me to the story of the real Mairi of "Mairi's Wedding"! Who knew? Meanwhile, I'm still searching for a good version of "Red is the Rose," sung by a woman to a woman. But I'm taking my time.
