Fiore explores all the horrible things that have befallen us as a nation since San Francisco started issuing marriage licenses. Cute.

Check out this wonderful photo essay on San Francisco's same-gender weddings. It's worth clicking through all the pages for some wonderful shots. If you don't feel like looking at the pictures, at least check out this soc.motss post quoting some of the captions. Very nice.

Damn, this pisses me off. It's classic Bush admin in so many ways: first off, they only fund shows they like. (Although I'm kind of baffled about Law & Order--don't they like Fred Thompson? He's one of the reasons I quit watching it.) Second, they target services directed at a powerless group. Next, they get rid of a service that used to be provided by the government so that private funders have to pay for it instead. And finally, they make decisions in total secrecy and refuse to be the least bit accountable. Sure, this is hardly the most important outrage they are perpetuating at the moment, but it is appalling and just really gets to me. Thanks to Buzzflash for linking to it.
