Oh dear God, help me, I can't stop laughing at this. Thank you Bartcop for the link.

Mark Morford has the definitive (and hilarious) American column about Canada's decision to legalize same-gender marriage. I've been collecting some Canadian responses and may post them later.

Oh. My. God. If Kate weren't asleep, I would have laughed a lot louder at this. Reading that professional moron Rev. Fred "God Hates Fags" Phelps and family/cult were picketing in Provincetown this weekend, I thought I should check their website to see if they were coming to RI too, as I hadn't checked in a while. Sure enough, they say they are (although no one that I know of has heard about it, which is just as well, and good thing basically no one here reads this blog, too!) But I just about fell on the floor laughing when I read their press release (it's a PDF.) For those who don't wish to click, the gist is that they were suckered by a Brown Daily Herald April Fools joke story that "reported" that David Cicilline announced that he wasn't gay after all and only claimed to be gay to get elected. Yes, Phelps is reporting this as true. Hilarious! I guess he didn't bother to check some of the other headlines from that day, like Buddy Cianci escaping from prison and fleeing to Macedonia, or Brown chaplain Janet Cooper-Nelson successfully negotiating permanent peace in the Middle East. Oh well, joke's on you, Freddie! And once again, you'll get no media coverage in RI.

And yet more about the pretzel-comprised Segway:
